The RMM-200 Ringer Modem Module is used by a major electric utility to retrieve metering data from modem-based electronic meters located where there are no telephone lines.

The RMM-200 installs on the top of a hand-held computer and "fools" the equipment into thinking that an actual phone line is connected.
