The PDR-100 Paging Data Receiver was designed to allow an electric utility to use industry-standard paging transmissions to control electric loads. The string of digits received in a numeric page message is decoded and interpreted as commands to operate any of three on-board relays.

Group addressing allows PDRs at different sites to simultaneously control loads upon reception of a single page transmission.
